The Guild of Book Workers is a national organization of bookbinders, book artists, calligraphers, paper makers, printers and marblers. The Guild sponsors a yearly conference on standards of excellence in bookbinding and traveling exhibitions of member’s works. The Guild publishes a newsletter, a journal and maintains lists of suppliers and study opportunities.
The New England Chapter follows the mission of the Guild of Book Workers on a regional level. We sponsor presentations and workshops throughout the year on various aspects of bookbinding and related arts of the book. The chapter organizes occasional exhibitions of member works and informs members of events of interest in the New England region.
Membership in the Guild of Book Workers includes the option of joining one or more regional chapters. For membership inquiries and all other information about the national organization please visit the GBW web site at https://www.guildofbookworkers.org
The benefits of New England Chapter membership include participation in member exhibitions and priority seating for any of our programs or workshops with space limitations. Member web sites will be added to our links page upon request. Of course, the main reason to join the chapter is to support our mission to promote the arts of the book in New England.
